Engine Shed. Bristol

The opportunity at Engine Shed was to convert this iconic building into a  centre for innovation, incubation and investment. Before designing anything, we took an extended trip around the UK with our client to learn from any similar projects elsewhere. The result was described by Ed Vaisey, Minister for Culture, as a “brilliant transformation of this historic building”.

This residential scheme for a housing association is being built to Passivhaus standards. These standards set the highest possible requirements for energy conservation and sustainability. Before completing our designs, the Director qualified as a Passivhaus Designer and the team leader took the practical course in Passivhaus Construction to ensure we fully understood the process.

Haverfordwest Leisure Centre

This regional leisure centre for Pembrokeshire County Council is located in the heart of the conservation area. Won in open competition the development was innovative at the time with lifting hydraulic floors to the pools and the capacity to be completely heated with biomass.
